Frequently Asked Questions

1. What’s the difference between counselling and coaching?

Think of counselling as looking inward—making sense of your feelings, experiences, and patterns so you can heal and grow. Coaching is more about looking forward—setting goals, finding motivation, and working out how to get where you want to be. We can stick with one, or mix them together, depending on what works best for you.

2. How do I know which one I need?

In our first chat, we’ll explore what you’re hoping for, and I’ll help you decide which approach (or combination) will suit you best.

3. How long will I need sessions for?

It’s completely individual. Some people come for 6-8 sessions to work through something specific, while others prefer longer-term support. We’ll check in regularly so it always feels right for you.

4. What happens in a session?

It’s your time, your space, and your agenda. We might talk through what’s been on your mind, explore challenges, or make plans for the future—whatever feels most helpful on the day.

5. Will everything I say be confidential?

Yes—what you share stays between us. The only exception is if I have a legal or ethical duty to share information to keep you or someone else safe, but I’ll always be open with you about this.

6. What if I’m nervous about starting?

That’s completely normal. To make it easier, I offer a free 15-minute introductory call—just a relaxed chat so you can ask questions, see how I work, and decide if it feels like a good fit.

7. Can I do sessions online as well as in person?

Absolutely. I work with clients in Knutsford, Alderley Edge, Wilmslow and online—whatever’s most comfortable and convenient for you.

8. Do you work with neurodiverse clients?

Yes, I do. I’ve supported many clients with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and other neurodivergent experiences. Sessions are always tailored to you, so we can adapt the pace, structure, and style to help you feel supported and understood.

9. How much do sessions cost?

Sessions are £95 for 60 minutes

10. How often should we meet?

Completely depends on your needs and your life! I see clients weekly, fortnightly or monthly. We can talk through the options.

11. Who do you work with?

I work with adults over the age of 18, from all walks of life, who want to explore challenges, create change, or simply have a space to be heard.
